onepolar的前身是源于1979年创始人家族开始生产，中国最有特色的黄白蓝编织旅行袋，编织袋便宜而且做工简单，非常适合家庭作坊的生产。沉寂多年后的1994年，极地正式确立与运动员合作，作为onepolar设计研发的核心，通过赞助运动员参加赛事，支持运动员发挥自己的潜力，创造一个又一个奇迹。无论险峰攀登，高山滑雪，巨浪滑行，山地骑行，我们的团队，在极限的环境研发和测试极地的装备，坚持制作完美的产品，极地--为探险而生。one代表创始人的姓氏，亦寓意追求品质第一，polar代表极地，三座雪山代表南北极和珠峰，寓意“极地”存在的意义是为探险地球三极生产专业的装备。

极地专卖店目前全国有200多家，并在海外市场也享有很好的知名度。产品以背囊为主，增加了登山鞋、冲锋衣、帐篷、睡袋等户外旅行所必备的产品，价格在中等价位左右，非常适合我国大部分地区的消费水平，比国外或国内的其它品牌拥有更多的竞争力和广阔的市场。
