Mega Jul适用于较粗的绳子，单绳直径为8.9-10.5mm。
Micro Jul适用于较细的绳子，单绳直径为8.9mm以下。
Mega Jul 绳索槽的内壁宽度为15mm（手工测量）。
Micro Jul 绳索槽的内壁宽度为11mm（手工测量），MicroJul明显开口尺寸更小，因此更适用于细绳子。
3.保护器穿绳子的正确方法

3. Inserting the rope:
Feed rope sling(s) through the ropeslot(s) and attach karabiner. Be sure the thumb bracket points away from theperson securing others. The device must be attached to the tie-in loop of theclimbing harness by means of a karabiner with snap-action aUTOmatic gate.

4. We recommend using an HMS Strike FGor HMS Strike Slider FG karabiner.
Wenn selecting an alternativekarabiner type, be sure an HMS automatic gate karabiner (pear shaped), ifpossible with turning prEVENTer, is used and that the securing device isattached on the wide end of the karabiner. A small/pointed karabiner attachedto the securing device may impair the brake function.
5.先锋保护或顶绳保护时
5a.先锋保护给绳的操作方法，制动手同时握住拇指托架和绳索的制动端，制动手（握住绳子制动端的手）把拇指托架向上抬起，以解除制动模式，同时导向手向上抽出绳索，实现给绳操作。
5b.收绳的操作方法，导向手向回拉攀爬端的绳子，同时制动手从保护器制动端抽出绳子，抽绳后立即向下压。
5. Securing during lead climbing /top-rope securing:
If a lead climber or top rope climberis secured, the rope may be handed out with the thumb method (Fig. 5a). In thethumb method, the braking hand (hand holding the braking rope) holds thesecuring device up at the thumb bracket, while the guiding hand pulls the ropefrom the device. To draw the rope back (Fig. 5b), the guiding hand pulls therope in; while the braking hand pulls the rope through the securing device.

6. At all times, the brake rope mustbe held completely with the braking hand!
If securing is carried out in front ofthe body, the ropes must not be held with one hand only. If rope is neithergiven out nor drawn back, the braking hand must be positioned below thesecuring device and the thumb of the braking hand must point to the device.Non-observance of any of these rules (Fig. 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d) may result in fatalaccidents!

7. 顶绳保护下放攀登者

7. Securing a descending climber withyour body:
To secure a descending climber, thedevice must be unlocked. This may be done by employing the thumb method, inwhich the securing device is pulled upward at the thumb bracket, therebyallowing the rope to run through (Fig. 7a). Alternatively, the tilt method maybe employed (Fig. 7b): The securing device is tilted by pointer and thumb ofthe guiding hand and is thereby unlocked. In both cases the brake speed iscontrolled by the braking hand.

8. Securing a top rope climber from a fixedpoint (e. g. a station):
One or two top rope climbers may besecured independently (be sure not to confuse the ropes!). The securing devicemust be attached at the fixed point by means of the attachment (Fig. 8a). Therope slings are fed through the rope slots and are then attached to a secondkarabiner (brake karabiner). Attention: The closed spine of the brake karabinermust be located on the side of the securing device that is opposite the wirebracket and must contact it directly (Fig. 8b/8c). When securing a top ropeclimber with a single rope, the karabiner must be attached to the rope loop andaround the device (Fig. 8d); it must not contact the rear of the device (8e).

10. To secure a descending top ropeclimber, the device may be unlocked using an additional karabiner attached to theunlocking eye. The descend speed must be controlled with the braking hand. Iftwo top rope climbers are secured, be sure to secure the braking rope of thetop rope climber who is not descending (e. g. by means of a knot).

11. 沿绳下降

For abseiling we recommend to turn thesecuring device around so that the thumb bracket points to the body (Fig. 11a).Additionally, use a Prusik sling for back securing.

Functionaland Safety Check
It is the responsibility of the userto check the proper function of the combination of securing device, securingkarabiner and climbing rope(s) in a safe environment (near the ground / at jumpheight). The operating properties may vary with some of the applicationsdescribed above (e. g. brake action); this is due to different karabinergeometries or rope diameters and surfaces.
Before securing or abseiling, checkthe correct attachment of the device as well as the proper function and brakeaction of the device.
Smooth ropes, moisture or icing maynegatively influence the braking effect of the device.

Ropetypes to be used
For lead climbing exclusively usedynamic ropes according to EN 892.
Diameter range see Fig. 2. The actualrope diameter may differ from the rated diameter indicated by the manufacturerby up to ±0.2 mm. Use of static ropes is allowed for securing with ropedeflection (top roping) or for lowering/abseiling of a person only, but not forsecuring of a lead climber! Avoid sagging of the rope.

The permanent use temperature of theproduct (in dry condition) ranges from approx. -30°C to +60°C.

LIFESPANAND REPLACEMENT
The lifespan of the product mainlydepends mainly on the way and frequency in which it is used and externalinfluences.
When the usable period has elapsed orlatest at the end of the maximum service life, the product must be removed fromuse.
Maximumlifespan under optimal storage conditions (see section on Storage) andwithout use: No limitations known.
OcCASIOnaluse: Occasional and appropriate use without obvious wear (Use withclean ropes) and tear and with optimal storage:10 years.
Frequentor extreme use
If used frequently at very highworkload, e. g. with contaminated ropes, the servicelife may be reducedsubstantially; in case of extreme use it may be less than 2 years.

在实际功能测试中，与制造商提供的信息会存在差异。例如，制动机构不能完全制动或不能释放，锁具不能牢固接合，滑轮不能转动，下降器不能安全工作。如果无法找到故障原因并进行妥善维修，则必须对产品进行废弃处理。
During the practical functional testthere are differences from the manufacturer’s information. For example, brakingmechanisms do not block completely or cannot be released, locks do not engagesecurely, pulley wheels do not turn and lowering mechanisms do not functionsecurely. If the causes of the malfunction cannot be found and repaired, theproduct must be disposed of.

五、保护器配合的主锁
官方建议与Mega / Micro Jul配合使用的主锁为EDELRID HMS BULLETPROOF SCREW FG内衬钢片防翻转主锁。两点原因，1、这款保护器相比BDATC等常规保护器更加容易磨损主锁，因此建议使用内衬不锈钢片的防磨损主锁。2、这款保护器的辅助制动原理需要让主锁的大头（工作面）挤压到保护器的凹槽里，实现制动，主锁小头的宽度不够，因此需要使用带有防翻转功能的主锁，保持大头一直朝前。

八、个人使用总结
优点：
1、功能全面，适用于顶绳攀登、先锋攀登和多段攀登上方保护1-2名跟攀者，可以使用单绳、半绳和双子绳，可以单绳、双绳下降，几乎具有保护器的所有功能。
2、设计新颖，创新性是在普通管式保护器的下底边增加了凹槽，就这一点点改变，带来的特点是具有辅助制停功能，可以理解成与龟龟的辅助制停原理和功能十分相似。当攀登者发生坠落后，主锁会进入保护器下方的凹槽里，通过主锁和保护器之间的挤压制动绳索，其制动原理和传统ATC不同，基本和龟龟的制动原理是一样的。
制动过程中，保护器和主锁共同挤压住绳索与龟龟相比，个人觉得优势明显。Mega Jul的重量是龟龟的三分之一，体积小重量轻，采用被动方式实现辅助锁定，没有活动机构，坚固可靠，可保护双绳和双绳下降，对使用环境的要求相对较低（龟龟要求在清洁环境下使用），不区分左右手（龟龟对左撇子操作很不友好）。
这种保护器依然是管式保护器的一种，虽然很多时候它是可以完全靠自己“制停”住绳索的，但是这种保护器的名称也只能称为辅助制动保护器，或高阻力管式保护器。由于带有辅助制停功能，在打保护时更加轻松省力，但是制动手永远不能松开！
3、坚固耐用，采用高强度不锈钢材料，不易磨损。相比之下，BD ATC和PETZL Reverso是铝合金材质，经常使用磨损还是很快的。
4、重量轻巧，Mega Jul重量是65克，ATC Guide是80g，BD ATC Pilot是86g，新款Reverso是57g，龟龟＋是200g，新龟龟是175g， MammutSMART2.0是80g。Mega Jul是最轻巧的双绳被动辅助制停保护器。
5、价格便宜，价格比龟龟便宜不少，比ATC Pilot和SMART2.0也便宜。
6、颜值舒心，个人非常喜欢这个绿色。
7、Mega Jul的锁定力量比龟龟小，有测试表明（以8.9 毫米绳子为例），龟龟的锁定力是2.1 ~ 2.8kN，Mega Jul是0.5 ~ 0.6 kN。在实际攀岩保护环境当中，锁定力量并不是越强越好，个人认为，在能够实现制动功能的前提下，锁定力相对弱一些更好，对保护点、攀爬者和保护者的冲击力都更小，在传统攀登和攀冰等需要面对低强度保护点的时候，尤为关键。在静态使用环境下，肯定是锁定力量越大越好，比如架设横渡系统或者建立倍力系统等。综合来看这个特性不能说是明显的不足。不足：
1、为了追求轻量化，保护器边缘比较锋利。
2、辅助制动的效果取决于绳索的直径，状态（软硬，结冰，潮湿等），以及主锁的形状。制动能力与配合的主锁有一定关系。
3、这款保护器的高阻力是主锁与绳索发生了挤压产生的，同时也就存在较大的摩擦力，对主锁的磨损更加严重，建议使用带有内侧钢片的耐磨H型主锁
4、建议使用防翻转主锁，避免主锁的小头朝前。
5、操作复杂，使用方式与传统ATC不同，穿绳子的方向，解除锁定的方法，先锋保护给绳的方法，都需要特别注意，尤其对于拇指托架的使用需要针对性练习。有时候主锁卡在凹槽里时，给绳不如ATC顺畅。
总体来说，给绳的操作比ATC复杂一点，需要三步动作：（1）制动手的拇指向上抬起拇指托架，这部实现解除锁定，（2）制动手的其余四个手指同时握住钢丝和绳索制动端，（3）导向手向上抽绳子。
6、多段攀登上方保护跟攀者的时候穿锁的方式很特别。
在用很细的单绳时，这种穿锁方式是错误的，可能导致攀爬端和制动端交换位置，造成保护系统完全失效。[6]
当用单绳进行上方保护，同时绳子直径很细的时候，上方保护唯一正确的穿锁方式（主锁同时包住保护器和绳索攀爬端）[6]
7、沿绳下降时，正反穿绳子都是正确的，但后续下降中的操作又有明显不同。
沿绳下降方法一，拇指托架朝前安装，有辅助制动功能（和龟龟下降效果一致），下降时需要一只手解除锁定，另一只手给绳。该下降方式适用于保护器直接连在安全带保护环上。注意：在任何时候，制动手必须始终完全握住绳索的制动端！[9]
沿绳下降方法二，在需要用扁带延长下降的时候，拇指托架朝后安装（反向安装），此时没有辅助制动功能（和ATC Guide下降效果一致），下降时直接给绳即可。该下降方式适用于保护器需要延长的情况。建议使用抓结进行备份。上述两种下降方法都是正确可靠的。[9]
8、拇指托架前部绿色的部分比较小，导致用拇指进行给绳操作时，需要经常用眼睛确认，先锋保护的时候，使眼睛在攀登者和保护器之间来回切换，不容易盲操作。
9、使用时建议佩戴手套，在放人下降时，需要用制动手握住抬起拇指托架解除锁定，同时还要握住绳索的制动端，这时给绳会明显感觉磨手，对手套的磨损相比ATC也更严重。

确实,我算挺早用megajul的，当时还没出不锈钢内衬主锁，制动时很伤铝合金主锁，搞花了好几把，还是把它出了。
