I bought these because I love Scarpa and wanted something casual that looked really good with shorts. I like converse but feel I may have out grown them being that I am 36. Scarpa describes it as more of a casual shoe but I think it's still a great light hiker as well. It has a vibram sole, which will last forever. The fit is great (9/ 42 mens). I typically wear 9.5 mens in a running shoe and 9 in hiking shoes and boots. I haven't seen anyone else wearing them, which is also great.

I was looking for a shoe that was attractive enough to wear around town or dress up a bit but rugged enough for light hiking, biking, exploring, etc.: essentially, the "I only need to pack one pair of shoes" shoes for a trip with a bit of everything. This shoe is comfortable, stylish, and so far has held up very well. They are perhaps a bit thin in the sole, as you would expect from an approach-style shoe made by a climbing company, but there is plenty of room to add a more structured insole or additional padding if you wanted it. The Vibram sole grips well without feeling heavy or chunky, and the upper materials are durable but light. An all-around excellent shoe.
